Ganjam: A DREAM Project to Fulfill One’s Dream in Matric Exams
Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration has come up with a unique project called DREAM (Drive for Result Enhancement in Annual Matriculation Examination) to better prepare the students in the ensuing Annual HSC Examination 2020.
The District Education Office has decided to work on a mission mode on the project to help the students get well acquainted with the new question pattern, which is going to be introduced in the upcoming matriculation exam.
Besides, the initiative will go a long way in preparing the students of different achievement level to appear at the exam successfully.
Under the DREAM project, model question bank will be prepared subject-wise, chapter-wise at school level focusing on both high, low and moderate achievers for practice.
The common test of two subjects will be conducted in every week i.e. on Monday and Thursday as per the following programme before test examination. The dates for pre-board exam followed by test exam will be intimated later, informed Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange to all headmasters and headmistresses of high schools in a letter.
The model question paper for common test will be prepared at District level and communicated to schools through e-mail. The HM will make photocopy of the question papers at school level as per the number of students.
The questions in 1st common Test will come from 1st 50% of syllabus of Class-X. The students will be asked to bring long size plain notebook for exam purpose. In case the HM feels that a particular student is unable to buy notebook; he / she will arrange the same at school level/ poor boys’ -fund of school and ensure the participation of every student in common test, the letter said.
In case a student remains absent on the test date, he will appear the test on the next day in Teachers’ Common Room / any other room without disturbing the normal class, it added.
The exam will start soon after the prayer class i.e. sharp at ‘10.30 AM to 1.00 PM 1.15 PM. The answer key of objective type questions will be provided after the test.
The normal classes will be held after the exam. The HM will ensure the completion of course in time. If required, all periods will be converted to teaching periods for Class-X and extra classes will be taken beyond school hours / holidays Sundays to complete the course and give special focus for improvement of result.
A Google Doc. will be developed by Programmer, SS at District level and the link will be shared for uploading of subject-wise and grade-wise result of school for analysis after each test.
The Block Education Officers will visit High Schools during common test. They will also ensure the evaluation of answer papers, recording of marks in registers, sharing of results with parents / students and uploading of subject-wise and grade-wise result of school in Google Doc. by HM in the link to be provided.
The subject teachers will make thorough discussion of questions with answers after each test for better understanding of students for improvement. The slow-learners will be identified subject wise and asked to appear the test again after discussion of question-answers to improve their writing practice. The extra classes will be arranged for them to take special care to clarify the concepts and give them tips to pass the exam.
The result of common test will be shared with students by next Monday I Thursday. After the analysis of common test result, the HM will develop strategy in staff meeting to address the individual need of students to ensure zero fail as well as some high achievers with A-1.
The HM will designate Mentors for both low achievers and high achievers. He will distribute such students among the staff and give the responsibility of monitoring their regular attendance, conduct of home assignments, participation in common test, analysis of result, personal difficulties, coordinate with parents etc. He / she will invite parents or if necessary make home visit for counseling, the letter further said.
It is the main duty of Mentor to encourage high achievers to secure and support low achievers to make zero fail. The narne of Mentor with child name will be maintained in the register and displayed in the school notice board The documentation of Mentoring. home visit etc. will be done for record and sharing.
The result of common test will be shared in the special PTA meeting of Class-X students.
The attendance of students must be ensured after test exam for special focus and regular [practice to prepare them for Board exam.
The special coaching programme for low achievers is being planned to organise centrally wherever required.
The workshop on DREAM will be held on 20th October 2019 to discuss the strategy to focus on both Class-IX and X students.
The HMs of schools having 100% result or schools having Al in AHSC Exam-2019 % will be felicitated in the said occasion and they will be asked to share their best practices in getting the success.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange hoped that the dedicated effort of teachers and support of parents will boost the morale of students and help them achieving better result in ensuing AHSC Exam 2020.
