Ahead of President’s Odisha Visit, DGP Reviews Security Arrangements

Bhubaneswar: Director General of Police Abhay today reviewed security arrangements ahead of President Ram Nath Kovind’s two-day visit to Odisha scheduled from March 21.

On March 21, the President will attend the convocation of National Institute of Technology (NIT) in Rourkela. He will visit the Konark Temple and Puri Jagannath temple the next day.
The top cop reviewed the security arrangements ahead of Kovind’s visit to Bhubaneswar, Rourkela and Puri through video conference.

Additional DGP (Law and Order), Intelligence Director, Twin City Police Commissioner, Joint Director of Intelligence Bureau, Rourkela IGP WR, DIGP Central Range, Cuttack and SPs of Rourkela, Puri, Jharsuguda and DCP Bhubaneswar attended the meeting,.

A detailed review of security arrangements at all visit locations in Rourkela and Puri, airports of Bhubaneswar and Jharsuguda and the Raj Bhawan, Bhubaneswar were discussed at the meeting.

The DGP stressed on strict access control and anti-sabotage check and thorough security arrangements with adherence to all Covid protocols.

District SPs apprised the DPG on arrangements being made to ensure full proof security during the visit of the President to the State.

Earlier State Chief Secretary Suresh Chandra Mohapatra asked the district aministrations of Sundergarh, Jharsuguda, Puri and Khurda to ensure strict compliance of COVID-19 safety norms during the President’s visit.
