All Eyes On Supreme Court For Ayodhya Verdict; Security Beefed up Across Country

Bhubaneswar: Even as the Supreme Court is likely to pronounce its verdict on the sensitive Ayodhya Title suit today at 10: 30 am, most of the state governments have tightened security arrangements to avoid any untoward incident. This comes after yesterday’s unprecedented meeting of Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi with UP Chief Secretary and Police DG. The Supreme Court of India will deliver its ruling on the sensitive case of Ram Janmbhoomi Babri Masjid land dispute that has been in courts for more than seven decades. The five-judge Constitution Bench headed by Chief Justice Ranjan Gogoi will pronounce its verdict. Other members of the Bench include Justices S A Bobde, D Y Chandrachud, Ashok Bhushan and S Abdul Nazeer. The judgment comes after 40 days of marathon hearing.

In view of the sensitivity attached with the case and the verdict going either way, anticipating strong reactions to the verdict from various sections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked his Council of Ministers to refrain from making unnecessary statements on the issue and to maintain harmony in the country. Meanwhile, UP government has made high security arrangements across the state as it braces for the verdict.
