Balangir: The district agriculture officer (DAO) in Balangir has come under the scanner of vigilance for allegedly accepting bribe to issue a Point of Sale Machine (POS).
The accused DAO has been identified as Himansu Sekhar Padhi.
Padhi has been apprehended by the Odisha Vigilance on Tuesday while he was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs.7,000 from a complainant for issue of Point of sale Machine(POS) for his fertilizer shop.
Simultaneous house searches have been launched on properties of the DAO at three places in Bolangir and Khurdha district.
The investigation is in progress against the DAO, the Odisha Vigilance said.
