Bhakta Charan Das Quits as Odisha Congress Campaign Committee Chairman

Bhubaneswar: Hours after resignation of OPCC president Niranjan Patnaik from his post in the wake of Congress’ electoral debacle in the state, Odisha Congress Campaign Committee chairman Bhakta Charan Das resigned from the post for the same reason.
In his resignation letter to All India Congress Committee (AICC) President Rahul Gandhi, Das wrote, “On the event of the failure of the Election in Odisha, I being the responsible leader of the Party and Chairman of Campaign Committee could not campaign in the state. We failed to perform better in the state, and I also feel equally responsible for the failure of the party.”
The grand old party had faced a massive defeat in Odisha winning one Lok Sabha seat and nine assembly seats.
