Bijepur: The high pitched campaign for by-poll in Bijepur Assembly constituency in Bargarh district scheduled to be held on October 21, will end on Saturday evening.
Stalwart leaders like BJD president and Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, senior BJP leader and Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and Congress leaders including MLAs Suresh Routray, Mohammed Moquim sought support of voters for their respective party candidates during their campaigns.
A total of five candidates are in the fray including Dilip Panda from the Congress, Sanat Gartia from the BJP and BJD’s Rita Sahu.
Bijepur by-poll was necessitated after Naveen Patnaik resigned from the seat and retaining Hinjili Assembly segment in Ganjam district, from where he has been winning since 2000.
