Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal has strongly condemned the suicide attempt by BJP MLA Subash Panigrahi in the Legislative Assembly and demanded an apology from the legislator.
Terming the Deogarh MLA’s suicide attempt an unprecedented and unfortunate incident in the history of Odisha Legislative Assembly, the ruling party demanded before the Speaker that the BJP MLA should immediately apologize.
The BJD alleged that Subash Panigrahi has defamed the dignity of House by his suicide drama.
Notably, the BJP MLA tried to attempt suicide by consuming sanitizer as a mark of protest inside the Assembly on Friday.
