BJD MLAs to Give Bi-Monthly Report Card to Naveen

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked his party MLA’s to submit bi-monthly activity report to him directly. Speaking at the Legislature Party Meeting today, Naveen said, You all know that MPs are submitting Bi-monthly activity reports to me. Similarly we would have a MLAs report submitted Bi-monthly to me.”

Naveen also informed that a four member committee has been formed to suggest and frame the reporting format and contents. The committee will have senior leaders Shri Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, Smt. Usha Devi, Shri Amar Prasad Satpathy and Shri Kishore Mohanty.as members.

Speaking to the MLAs, Naveen also stressed on the need for full attendance of the members in the assembly. As the winter session is an important session and many important Bills are to be passed during the session, all members should be present in the house.

Naveen said, “This session is an important session as Supplementary Budget would be passed as well as important bills would be taken up. I would like all the members to be punctual and sincere in attending the house. Anyone who needs more than 2 days leave will get it sanctioned from me. I am very serious about members’ attendance this time.”

Calling upon the members of the party to actively participate in the debates and discussions of the house, Naveen has said that he would be particularly keeping an eye on the performance of the first time members. He has asked the Government Chief Whip to submit everyday by 11.30 a.m., a report on members’ attendance in the house.
Taking on the opposition, Naveen said, “We would encourage constructive criticism by the opposition and we would be ready to discuss any issue in the floor of the house.”

Detailing the priorities for his party members, Naveen Said, “Biju Janata Dal legislative party should use technology to monitor members’ attendance also to effectively collect materials and participate in the house.”

“People of Odisha are our masters and every minute we are in office we should utilise to serve them wholeheartedly. The mandate in Patkura and Bijepur Bye-elections is again a reminder of how much faith people have in Biju Janata Dal. This should make all of us to work hard in a transparent and committed manner for the people of our State.
