Sasmit Patra Demands Odisha’s Inclusion in Central Advisory Board for Wages in RS
New Delhi: Biju Janata Dal MP Sasmit Patra today spoke on the Code on Wages Bill, 2019 in the Rajya Sabha.
He highlighted the provisions of Minimum Wages, Fixation of Minimum Wages, Floor Wage as compared to Minimum Wage, deterrence of Offences and Penalties and appointment of States in Central Advisory Committee.
He also stated how Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has been providing Minimum Wages to the workers in Odisha – Rs. 280 for unskilled, Rs.320 for sem-skilled, Rs.370 for skilled workers and Rs. 430 for high skilled workers.
He demanded that states like Odisha need to be represented in the Central Advisory Board mentioned in the Code which is not clear in the Code on Wages Bill.
