BJD Poised to Get More than 760 ZP Seats, to Break Its Own Record

Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal is all set to register a landslide victory in the 2022 Panchayat elections, breaking its own electoral record.

The Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik-led party is poised to get more than 760 Zilla Parishad seats, all-time highest number of seats to be bagged by the party in the political history of Odisha.

The party had won 651 ZP seats in 2012 Panchayat elections.

Breaking its own record, the BJD is all set to register empathetic victory in more than 764 ZP seats this elections.

As per the latest trends coming out from 851 seats of 853 seats, the CM-led party is leading comfortably in 764 seats, which is around 89%. While the BJP is leading in 42 seats and Congress is leading in 38 seats.

Meanwhile, the counting is underway for the third consecutive day today.
