Bhubaneswar: The Biju Janata Dal today carried out protest rally against the Center’s negligence towards Odisha in allocating houses under the Prime Minister’s Awash Yojana. BJD MLAs, leaders and workers marched to Raj Bhawan with placards and sloganeering. The protesting leaders alleged that the Center is intentionally creating hurdles in allocating houses under PMAY. They have alleged that about 15 lakh beneficiaries have been devoid of getting PMAY houses in the state due to the apathy of the Center. They also submitted a memorandum to the Governor in this regard.
On the other hand Mahila BJD leaders and workers also protested near the Raj Bhawan against price rise of essential commodities.
