Baripada: In a significant development, BJP MLA from Baripada Mayurbhanj district Prakash Soren has been reportedly arrested by the police for allegedly thrashing an Assistant Executive Engineer at Circuit House here.
The Baripada Town police arrested the legislator under Sections 294, 341, 323, 324, 506 and 34 of the IPC. Later, he was produced before a local court from where he secured conditional bail.
According to a complaint lodged by Ganapati Jena, Assistant Executive Engineer, ITDA, Baripada with the Town Police, the MLA reportedly thrashed him at the circuit house.
Jena further alleged that MLA had scolded him using abusive languages besides kicking him.
Acting on the complaint, police have reportedly arrested him.
