Boost to Health Infra: Odisha Govt to Set up New Medical College in Phulbani, Teaching Hospital at Koraput

Bhubaneswar: In a bid to provide better healthcare facilities in the remote areas in the State, the Odisha Government has decided to set up of new medical college in Phulbani and a teaching hospital in Koraput district.
This was decided at the Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today.

The Odisha government has decided for construction of 100 seated new medical college and teaching hospital at Phulbani and 650 bedded teaching hospital for new medical college at Koraput on Turnkey basis in order to improve the medical education and to cater to the needs of common people and creation of qualified doctors.

The Odisha Cabinet have approved the lowest bid of M/s Shapoorji Pallonji and Company Pvt. Ltd. amounting to Rs 680 crore for execution of the work.
The project is likely to within a period of 3 years.
