Bhubaneswar: Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat today appreciated the counter Left Wing Extremism (LWE) of Odisha Police.
The Army Chief, while addressing the 62nd Senior Police Officers’ Conference-2020 virtually, lauded the efforts of Odisha Police in combating LWE in the State.
“We feel privileged that Chief of Defence Staff ,General Bipin Rawat , addressed the 62 Senior Police Officers Conf of Odisha Police a few minutes ago .Gen Rawat appreciated counter LWE work of Odisha Police. He talked about National Security and our security environment”, the DGP Abhay said.

During 2020, major successes of the State Police included the neutralization of 17 Maoists leaders and cadres, arrest of 34 Maoists and surrender of 21 Maoists. Establishment of 3 COBs (Hantalguda, Jodambo and Gurasetu) and operationalization of Jodambo PS from Jodambo (20.06.2020) has brought about 80% of Swabhiman Anchal under police cover, reveled the conference.
