Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated Odia girl Baisali Mohanty on being appointed as United Nations Policy Officer.
“Congratulate Baisali Mohanty on being appointed as United Nations Policy Officer. She joins an illustrious list of Indian women who are breaking many glass ceilings across the world. We wish her the best for her tenure”, the Odisha CM tweeted.
Baisali Mohanty, who made the State proud by winning the prestigious High Profile Achievement Award as best graduate student at Oxford University, England, has again brought laurels for the State on being appointed as United Nations Policy Officer.
She took charge of her new assignment on July 1.
After her Master’s Degree in International Studies from the Oxford University in 2016, Baisali was selected to join the International Civil Service of United Nations.
From early 2018, she has been serving as the OIM Officer in the UN Mission for the Rohingyas at Cox’s Bazar on Myanmar-Bangladesh border where over 10 lakh Rohingya refugees are being taken care of by the UN in world’s largest refugee camp.
Born in Puri, Baisali did her schooling from Blessed Sacrament High School in the temple town and KIIT International School in Bhubaneswar.
