Bhubaneswar: In another step for the promotion of sports and youth welfare, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has inaugurated the 25th All India Forest Sports Meet here on Tuesday.
The meet will continue till March 7.
As many as 45 teams from different states and UTs are taking part in the competition. Around 2600 sports persons will compete in about 230 events in 23 games.
The meet will witness various field and track games including basketball, volleyball, squash, table tennis, hockey, cricket, badminton, lawn tennis, archery, powerlifting, golf, carom, chess, bridge, billiards, rifle shooting, athletics, tug of war, swimming, kabaddi, and other indoor games.
Different sports events would be organised at various stadiums for five days and the closing ceremony would be held on March 7 at the Kalinga Stadium.
