Complete Unnao survivor’s Accident Case within 7 days, SC to CBI
New Delhi: In a major development, the Apex court today directed the CBI to complete its investigation into the Unnao survivor’s accident case within seven days.
CBI, however said they need a month to conclude the investigation.
Meanwhile the BJP has expelled the Unnao rape case accused MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar from party.
In another development in Unnao gangrape case, the Supreme Court which took up the victim’s letter for hearing, has ordered the CBI officer investigating the case to be present before the court by 12 pm to brief the bench on the status of the cases.
In another major embarrassment to the Uttar Pradesh government, the bench headed by Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi has decided to transfer four cases linked to the Unnao rape survivor from Lucknow to Delhi.
The top court has taken up the letter written by the Unnao teen rape survivor’s family to the Chief Justice of India. The letter had alleged grave danger to them from accused BJP lawmaker Kuldeep Singh Sengar. Chief Justice of India Ranjan Gogoi had sought a report from the Supreme Court registry asking it to file a reply within a week, as to why there is a delay in placing the letter written on July 12.
On Sunday, the teen rape survivor, her two aunts and her lawyer were travelling from Unnao to Raebareli when a truck rammed their car.
The teen had accused Sengar of sexually assaulting her when she went to his Unnao home for a job in 2017.
Sengar was arrested in April last year, days after the girl threatened to set herself ablaze in front of UP Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s home in Lucknow if the police didn’t file her complaint.
