Corruption and Inefficiency: Odisha Takes Action Against Four Erring Officials

Bhubaneswar: Continuing its endeavor to bring efficiency and clean up corruption in public offices, the Odisha Government today took stringent action against four officials. While two officers have been dismissed from their position, the pension and other benefits of another two officials have been withdrawn permanently.

The government has dismissed Titlagarh SEO Balaram Suna and the Statistical Assistant of Athamallik Women and Child Development Department Basant Kumar Sahu on charges of Corruption. Likewise, the government has also taken strict cognizance of corruption charges and withdrawn the pension benefits permanently of the former DGM of BED Bhubaneswar Damodar Dash and retired Police ASI A Jagannath Rao.

With this, in the last one year, the Government of Odisha has taken action against 117 corrupt officials on charges of inefficiency and corruption. Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has time and again stressed on zero tolerance to corruption in public offices and asked his officials to take stringent action.
