New Delhi: India reported 152,879 fresh cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, taking the tally of those infected by the virus to 1,33,58,805, according to the data given by the Union Health Ministry.
The COVID-19 death toll reached 1,69,275 after 839 succumbed to the disease in the last 24 hours.
India has been recording a daily spike of over one lakh cases for the past week.
Currently, the active Covid-19 caseload in the country stood at 1,108,087, which accounts for 7.93% of the total confirmed cases.
