Covid-19: Puri Collector Urges For Unity Amidst Reports Of Social Discrimination

Puri: The fear of deadly Corona virus has gripped the whole world and Odisha is not far from it. As the virus spreads its tentacles, the communities are getting more and more vigorous in countering the disease. In this critical situation, there are some reports received that confirm some fringe incidents of social discrimination against people who are suspected to be infected with the virus and people who are coming from foreign countries or other states.

 

To quell such incidents, Puri District Collector has issued a video message and urged people for unity at this critical times and don’t buy the reoumers on Covid-19.

Collector Balwant Singh has appealed to the people of the district not to panic or socially discriminate against the people who have returned from foreign countries or other states and are presently on home isolation as advised by the authorities. They are our brothers and sisters and we should sensitively deal with the situation. Anyone taking law in his or her hands will not be tolerated. If anyone on quarantine develops any symptoms of flu or fever, they will be promptly attended by Rapid Response Team ( RRT) of the Health and Family Welfare Department.
