COVID-19 Second Wave: Odisha Police Take Action against 5.30 Lakh Rule Violators since April

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Police have taken action against more than 5.30 lakh persons who have violated the COVID-19 guidelines since April 1, said DGP Abhay on Thursday.

In a press briefing on the law and order, and COVID enforcement drive in the State, the top cop said that the police have collected Rs 16 crore as fines from people for violations of the Covid-19 regulations across the State since April this year.

As many as 1468 violators have been arrested and 31,758 vehicles have been seized, he added.

The police also sealed 3979 shops for violation of COVID-19 guidelines and collected fines of Rs 47 lakh from different institutions during the same period, he further said.
