Covid Warrior From Ganjam Goes Beyond Call of Duty to Serve The Needy

Berhampur: She suffers from pain… But wears smile on her face. Meet the Corona warrior from Odisha’s Ganjam district – Annapurna Choudhury, an Anganwadi worker who has completely dedicated herself in the war against the deadly virus beating all odds.

Despite severe pain on her neck and head owing to a recent brain surgery, Annapurna is not giving up the fighting. She is showing exceptional dedication to her duty and serving people at this critical hour.

Annapurna is an Anganwadi worker from Balarampur, a village located in Andra-Odisha border in Gudipadar panchayat under Patrapur block in Ganjam district.

She underwent a critical brain operation on March 6 at a private hospital in Bhubaneswar and joined the duty within a week after the surgery.

As coronavirus pandemic has brought unprecedented challenges before Odisha, like thousands of frontline warriors, Annapurna too joined the fight, even though she is facing post-surgery complications.

As part of her duty, the Anganwadi worker is visiting door to door in remote Balarampur village to create awareness among the masses about the various preventive measures suggested by the government and district administration to combat the killer virus.

She is also helping the district administration immensely by providing necessary supports in health surveys in the village and taking care of quarantine facilities.

Salute to this brave COVID-19 warrior.
