Bhubaneswar: The second weekend shutdown in the eleven districts of the state has commenced and most of the places look deserted with people remaining indoors. Though police have made strict arrangements for implementation of the shutdown, people seem to be obeying the guidelines on their own. All essential services have been permitted for movement and National Highways are out of the purview of shutdown. All non essential movement of people and businesses have been barred in the eleven districts.
The State government decided to impose weekend lockdown districts such as Ganjam, Puri, Nayagarh, Khorda, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapada, Jajpur, Bhadrak, Balasore and Balangir for the month of June.
The decision was taken in view of the growing number of Coronavirus cases in these districts and the return of a large number of migrants from other states.
