Famous Personalities Who Have Tested Positive for COVID-19

New Delhi: Pandemic Coronavirus (COVID-19) has emerged as one of the biggest threats to the mankind in the century, a threat that does not discriminate between developed countries and under developed countries between democratic or Non-democratic countries, between rich and poor.

UK’s Health Minister, the first family of Canada, Senators in the US, Half of Iran’s Cabinet, major Movie stars, Sports persons the virus has not spared any one.

Here are well-known people — politicians, sports stars or celebrities — who have tested positive for the coronavirus.


Peter Dutton: Australian Home Affairs Minister Peter Dutton on March 13 revealed he had tested positive for the virus.

Dutton, who sits on the national security committee, reportedly picked up the virus during his recent tour to the US.

There are currently 156 confirmed cases in Australia.

Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson: Renowned actor Tom Hanks annonunced that he and his wife Rita Wilson had tested positive for coronavirus in Australia. The celebrity couple are in a Gold Coast hospital.

Hanks and Wilson are in Australia filming Baz Luhrmann’s untitled Elvis Presley film.

Sophie Gregoire Trudeau: Sophie Gregoire Trudeau, wife of Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau tested positive for coronavirus on March 12.

The Canadian Prime Minister’s Office stated that Mr Trudeau was feeling well and would remain in isolation.

“The Prime Minister is in good health with no symptoms. As a precautionary measure and following the advice of doctors, he will be in isolation for a planned period of 14 days,” the statement added.

Mikel Arteta: Head coach at Premier League club Arsenal, Mikel Arteta has tested positive for COVID-19 on March 12, forcing the Gunners’ Premier League match at Brighton on Saturday to be postponed.

Arsenal closed their training ground as a result of Arteta’s positive test, with Gunners players and club staff who had recent contact with the Spaniard now forced to self-isolate.

Daniele Rugani: Italy’s famous soccer player Daniele Rugani had tested positive for COVID-19 on March 11 despite not having symptoms, confirmed Italian soccer club Juventus.

The club says Rugani and those known to have had contact with him are being isolated.

Rugani is the first player in the country’s top soccer division to test positive.

Rudy Gobert: Rudy Gobert, one of the most popular French professional basketball players for the Utah Jazz of the National Basketball Association, tested positive for coronavirus shortly before a game against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Initially the NBA proposed that games would continue without spectators, but on Thursday March 12 the organisation suspended all matches.

Another player Donovan Mitchell had also tested positive.

Nadine Dorries: UK Health Minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has been diagnosed with coronavirus.

Labour MP Rachael Maskell revealed she had been advised to isolate herself after meeting with Dorries last week, even though she had no symptoms.

More than 125,000 people have been diagnosed with Covid-19 in 118 countries around the world, according to the World Health Organization.
