Fighting COVID-19: DC, 5T Secy Review Preparedness in Jharsuguda and Sundargarh

Rourkela: As the fight against deadly Coronavirus continues and the Odisha Government keeps itself ready to face any challenge, Development Commissioner Suresh Mahapatra and Secretary to CM (5T) VK Pandian today took stock of the preparedness in Jharsuguda and Sundargarh districts to contain the spread of the deadly virus.

 

The senior officials, who reached Jharsuguda to review various steps taken by the district administration in response to the corona pandemic, held a discussion with Collector Saroj Samal and senior health department officials.

During their visit, the Development Commissioner and Secretary to CM (5T) reviewed various facilities available including isolation wards, ICU facility and availability of medicines. They also took stock of the enforcement of lockdown and arrangements made for the migrant workers stranded in the district from other states. They also urged the district administration to facilitate the agricultural activities including movement of agricultural produce, speedy implementation of MGNREGA and taking care of the destitute and helpless people in view of extension of COVID-19 lockdown.

 

Later the two officials visited the Sundargarh Covid-19 Hospital and reviewed the facilities available there. They had a discussion on various aspects with the Collector Nikhil Pavan Kalyan and other senior district officials.
