Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration today started the door-to-door health screening of the people across the district in order to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The teams of the district admin stared the health checkup in Saru village in Hinjili block in the presence of Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange.
Amid the increasing positive cases in the State, the Ganjam admin has decided to undertake the massive screening exercise to cover around seven lakh families.
As per the plan, the three-member teams comprising a teacher, one Anganwadi worker and one helper will visit every household and conduct the screening asking them about the symptoms, travel history of any family members, etc.
A team of health department will assist them in case they find any symptomatic person.
The suspected cases will be put under strict quarantine immediately, the admin said.
