Gajapati Leads In Watershed Management; Receives Best Watershed Project Award At Krushi Odisha 21

Bhubaneswar: With its continuous efforts to rejuvenate the natural streams and water bodies along with providing a sustainable water source for agriculture, the Gajapati district administration has been vigorously undertaking watershed management projects. One of such projects is the Satya Sai Watershed Project of Ariba village of Gosani Block which has been awarded as the best Watershed Project in Odisha for excellence in management of Watershed Project. The award was presented by the Odisha Agriculture Minister at the ongoing “Krushi Odisha – 2021” mahotsav at Bhubaneswar. Rabindra Kumar Sahu, Project Director, Watersheds, Gajapati received the award on behalf of the district administration.

Reacting on the achievement, Gajapati Collector Anupam Saha has said that, “We are taking watershed management projects on a priority basis. These will enhance the water management practices to protect and improve the water quality and other natural resources in an inclusive manner.”
