Ganjam Admin Launches ‘Mission Zero Covid-19’ In Berhampur; Issues SOP

Berhampur: Keeping in view the increasing number of Coronavirus cases in the district and Berhampur in particular, the Ganjam district administration has decided to launch Mission Zero Covid-19 in Berhampur Municipal Corporation (BeMC) area.

As maximum number of persons coming from other states are staying Home Quarantine, it has become necessary to undertake a health screening in the BeMC area, Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange said.

The coming weeks are going to be critical for containing the spread of COVID-19 in the district, he added.

It is also observed that many COVID-19 deaths are from category of persons suffering communicable and non-communicable diseases and it is also important to take preventive measures to contain vector borne and water borne diseases such as Malaria, Dengue and Diarrhea.

Looking into the prevalence of COVID-19 infection in the community and other communicable and non-communicable diseases, Mission Zero Covid-19 in Berhampur City will be initiated. Hence, in order to bring down the community spread of COVID-19 infection, Mission zero COVID-19 in Berhampur city will be started with a standard SOP.

The Objectives of the Mission are

1. To identify the Covid-19 Symptoms and co-morbidity.
2. To provide emergency treatment at the door steps.
3. To create Awareness on Covid-19, TB, Malaria, Dengue and Diarrhoea and prevention activities.

The SOP will be as follows:

1. One Meeting will be conveyed under the Chairmanship of Commissioner BeMC Berhampur.
2. All Population will be covered under the surveillance covering all Wards of BeMC Berhampur.
3. The Team consisting of ANM, ASHA, AWW, AYUSH MO will conduct house to house Surveillance in the given area and will conduct Health Checkups of all individuals through thermal Scanning, BP and Sugar test.
4. The Team will cover at least 150 household per day.
5. The Daily activities will be reviewed on everyday under the Chairmanship of Dy. Commissioner ADUPHO.
6. One Nodal Officer will be deployed for each ward by the BeMC Berhampur.
7. The Health Officer BeMC Berhampur will be the Nodal Officer of the entire programme.
8. The symptomatic cases found by the team during the surveillance, then the team will inform to RRT concern immediately. The patient will be shifted to respective facilities under recommendation of RRT.

i) If case is having symptomatic with travel Contact history will be shifted to CCC Parala-B Sitalapali.

ii) If the case is having symptoms with no travel/ contact history will be shifted to CCC Biju Adarsha Vidyalaya Palur Hill, Golanthara.

iii) Then the Central Swab Collection Team will collect swab from the person admitted in the CCCs mentioned above.

9. The ADPHO will submit the daily Consolidated Report to Commissioner BeMC CDM and PHO Ganjam.

10. The Commissioner & CDM & PHO will send the report to the Collector & DM on every day.

11. The Entire activities will be monitored by the District RRT and other Officials of BeMC. Accordingly the CDM & PHO and Commissioner BeMC will issue the Supervision Order accordingly.

12. The Screening Register (Form-1) and Symptomatic Reporting format (Form-2)

13. The District Ayurvedic/Homeopathic Medical Officer will depute newly joined OPSC AMOs to the Commissioner BeMC immediately. They are also directed to depute students as per requirement to the CDMO & PHO for the screening.

14. All miscellaneous expenses for the above campaign will be meet from NHM fund as per approval of CDMO & PHO.

15. An action plan will be taken approval from CDMO & PHO by CPMU, BeMC for taking miscellaneous expenses for this campaign.
