Berhampur: The Ganjam district administration has extended helping hand to a boy suffering from rare Hemangioma.
The admin has made necessary arrangements for proper treatment of Chinmaya Barada, who has been diagnosed with Hemangioma, a condition that causes recurrent low flow vascular malformation of check, lip and tongue.
Due to abnormal growth of tongue, the eleven-year old boy from Sutumusara village of Bellaguntha block is facing serious problems in speaking, eating and breathing.
Ganjam Collector Vijay Amruta Kulange paid a visit to Chinmaya who is undergoing treatment at City Hospital here and assured all possible support for his proper treatment.
The child has been referred to SCB Medical College and Hospital under Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) for better treatment, the Collector informed.
As per recommendation of the doctor, the child will be shifted to AIIMS, New Delhi for further treatment after initial treatment in Cuttack, sources said.
The treatment cost will be borne though funds from RBSK, CMRF and Red Cross. The Chief Minister will be apprised regarding it, Kulange said.
Notably, Chinmaya was treated at MKCG Medical College Hospital and City Hospital in the past, but the vascular disease kept on recurring.
The child was diagnosed with the condition when he was six-month old. His parents consulted several doctors and hospitals, but did not get desirable medical results.
