Ganjam Bags Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar

Berhampur: Adding yet another feather to its cap, Odisha’s Ganjam district has bagged three more national level gram panchayat awards.

The district won three Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Sashaktikaran Puraskar (DDUPSP) awards in overall general category.

While Hinjilicut received the Best Block award, both Sasan Ambagan and Alarigada got the Best Gram Panchayat awards in DDUPSP in recognition of good works at each level of services delivery to the people.

Expressing happiness over the achievement, Ganjam DRDA Project Director Siddharth Shankar Swain said, “It is a matter of pride and the whole team including officials & PRI members deserve every bit of recognition for their efforts”.

In his reaction, Alarigada Sarpanch Pitambar Swain said the award further motivates us to do hard work following the ideals and principles of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

Holding similar views, Sasan Ambagan Sangita Sahu said that inspired by our Chief Minister‘s 5T mantra for good governance, we will continue to work the development of the people.

Earlier, Ganjam district won the National Panchayat Awards 2020 in three major categories – Gram Panchayat Development Plan, Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat and Nanaji Deshmukh Rashtriya Gaurav Gram Sabha Puraskar (NDRGGSP).
