Due to strict enforcement of social distancing norms and containment measures, several rounds of intensive door-to-door health screening and active involvement of community, the COVID-19 situation in the district has come under control.
As on September 22, the number of active cases in the district stands at 247 making it the third district in the State to have less number of positive cases after Gajapati and Deogarh, the two districts have 195 and 101 cases respectively.
