Chatrapur: Police has arrested a person in Odisha’s Ganjam district for allegedly spreading misinformation on Coronavirus (COVID-19).
The accused has been identified as Areya of Bada Arjyapali in Chatrapur block.
As per sources, Areya allegedly shared a fake message on social media claiming that a person from Chatrapur area has tested positive for coronavirus.
Following the instructions from the district administration, the police investigated the matter and held the youth last evening.
Notably, the Odisha Government has ordered for stringent action against person spreading rumors on COVID-19.
