Bhubaneswar: The heavy rains since yesterday have affected train services badly in Odisha.
Many Express and Passenger trains are running behind schedule. Heavy to very heavy rains have been experienced between Palasa and Vizianagaram. At Vizianagaram, water from city municipal drains and nearby areas entered the Station yards and tracks got submerged for some time.
Signaling posts also got affected at many stations due to heavy water flow all night long. As water position has receded there, things are getting normalised.
There will be a requirement to cancel/reschedule a few trains. Some short distance trains may get cancelled, official sources said.
