Bhubaneswar: Akash Pathak, who was arrested for allegedly running fake job racket, has reportedly admitted that he was never the managing director of Tata Motors.
During the interrogation by the Commissionerate Police here, the son of disgraced IFS officer Abhay Pathak has confessed that he was the MD of Tata Motors, according to reports.
The high-flying junior Pathak also divulged information about his flight and hotel details, and fraudulent money transaction, reports added.
Earlier on December 17, the Commissionerate Police had taken Akash Pathak on a four-day remand for further interrogation in connection with a complaint lodged by travel agency Sky King alleging Pathak of defrauding iy over Rs 65 lakh.
Akash had allegedly booked charter flight tickets and luxury accommodation in five star hotels through the Sky King at cost of Rs 2.78 crore, of which he had paid Rs 2.13 crore and the remaining dues amounting to Rs 65,16,233 is still pending.
Earlier, Akash was grilled by the State Crime Branch in connection with job fraud case after Tata Motors had lodged a complaint against him accusing him of duping many youth by impersonating himself as the Managing Director of the company.
Akash had allegedly taken crores of rupees from several youths by promising them jobs in Tata Motors.
