India Records Biggest Single Day Spike of 28,701 COVID Cases, Tally Reaches 8, 78,254

New Delhi: India’s COVID-19 tally reached 8,78,254 on Monday with the biggest of single day spike of 28701 new positive cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Union Health Ministry data.

The death toll mounted to 23,174 with 500 people succumbing to the disease, according to the Union health ministry data.

The number of recoveries stands at 5,53,470 and active cases at 3,01,609 in the country.

Maharashtra has recorded a spike of 7,827 cases and Delhi 1,573 cases in the past 24 hours.

The rapid spread of the virus has seen the country’s share in daily global cases rise to 12%, according to reports.
