New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Friday rejected the petition of Puri Shankaracharya Swami Nischalananda Saraswati with regard to the reforms in the Jagannath Temple.
The apex court rejected the Puri seer’s appeal to make him a party in the Srimandir Reforms case, informed Swetaketu Mishra, counsel of the Shree Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA).
While rejecting the plea, the SC said that the Shankaracharya of Govardhan Peetha can only give advice and suggestion to the stakeholders on matters pertaining to the Jagannath Temple reforms.
Later the apex court deferred its hearing on Srimandir reforms indefinitely.
