Bhubaneswar: Continuing its crackdown on corrupt officials, the Odisha Vigilance today apprehended a Child Development Project Officer ( CDPO) in Kalahandi district for taking bribe of Rs 1,00,000.
Puspanjali Rath, CDPO of Thuamul Rampur Block in Kalahandi district, was held by the vigilance sleuths while she was demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 1,00,000 from a complainant for appointment of his spouse as Anganwadi worker.
The bribe money has been recovered from the CDPO and a case has been registered against her, said the Vigilance.
Simultaneous searches have been launched on properties of Rath at one place in Bolangir district and two places in Kalahandi district.
