Orissa High Court Quashes Plea Seeking Permission to Sell Crackers during Diwali

Cuttack: The Orissa High Court today quashed a plea seeking permission to sell crackers during the Diwali festival.

The High Court rejected the petition of All Odisha Fire Works Dealers Association stating that the association is not a registered organization, according to reports.

The association had filed a petition in the High Court against the State Government order, which prohibits the sale and use of firecrackers during the festive season.

Notably, the State Government, in its order on September 30, has banned the sale and use of firecrackers during the Diwali in view the prevailing pandemic situation.
