Letter Bomb In Congress: Senior Congress Leaders Write to Sonia Gandhi For Sweeping Changes In Party

New Delhi: In what could be the biggest challenge to the leadership of Gandhi Family in the Congress Party, 23 senior leaders have called for sweeping changes in the Organisation to save the party and the country.

The letter, written to AICC Working President Sonia Gandhi, stresses on reforms in the part from the block level to the central leadership and call for transparent organizational elections to revive the Congress. The 23 signatories to the letter include some of the CWC Members – the highest decision making body of the Party.

The letter is said to have been written two weeks back and calls for clear-cut mechanism to govern the party with an effective central leadership. According to television channels, the contents of the letter call for revival of the Congress is needed for the health of Indian democracy.

In view of the developments, the Party has called for a meeting on Monday to discuss the issues and it is expected that the letter will be in focus.
