Baripada: Around 21 under trial prisoners in a sub-jail in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district have tested positive for COVID-19.
The authorities of Udala sub-jail have sanitized the entire prison premises after 21 inmates have been infected with the virus.
The swab samples of 76 prisoners were sent for Covid testing out of which, 21 were tested positive, the jail authorities informed.
The Rapid Response Team (RRT) has started treatment of the infected jail inmates. Those who require medical observation will be shifted to the Covid hospital.
