Bhubaneswar: Amid spike in COVID-19 cases in Odisha, the Health and Family Welfare Department today said that a large number of people, who have tested positive for the coronavirus, have been recovered without undergoing any major treatment.
The COVID-19 is curable in most of the cases with mild symptoms, the Department sad.
Majority of the people (80%) will require no treatment as such and will recover on their own. A small proportion (less than 20%) may need hospitalization, it said.
A very small proportion (mainly with underlying chronic illness) may need admission in intensive care unit (ICU), the Health Department further said.
“Don’t panic if you are detected positive. Follow the guideline and stay away from others to protect them”, it added.
Notably, eight more COVID-19 patients in the State have recovered from the disease today and are being discharged. The total number of recovered cases of Odisha now stands at 166.
