Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has congratulated Odisha Tourism and Puri District Administration on receiving the coveted Blue Flag Label. In a tweet, Naveen said “Congratulations Odisha Tourism & Puri District Admin as coveted #BlueFlags have been hoisted at #Puri’s Golden Beach after receiving the certification from FEE Denmark. The prestigious eco-label will further boost tourism and add to the charm of #WorldHeritageCity.

Earlier today Union Environment Minister Prakash had hoisted the Blue Flag at the Odisha’s popular Puri beach virtually. The Union Minister flagged off the Blue Flag and the Tricolour at Puri beach and seven other beaches across the country.
Eight beaches of India, spread across five states and two union territories, have been awarded the “Blue Flag” tag by an International Jury comprising of eminent members viz UNEP, UNWTO, FEE, IUCN in October this year.
