Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today wrote to Prime Minister Narendra Modi urging him to consider his demand for sanctioning of special houses to the families affected by cyclone FANI in the state under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
The Chief Minister said that Odisha has identified, geo-tagged and Aadhaar seeded 7.87 lakh houses in 14 FANI affected districts. The beneficiaries may be brought into permanent wait list of PMAY(G) and considered for sanction of PMAY(G) special houses, the Odisha CM said.
The step will not only provide relief to the affected families, but also ensure safe housing to rural families to withstand natural calamities in the cyclone prone areas, Naveen added.
“The state has identified 6.07 lakh eligible households who had been left-out from the permanent wait list of PMAY(G) in 16 non-FANI affected districts,” he wrote in the letter.
The Chief Minister urged to the Prime Minister to open window of Aawaas+ mobile app to geo-tag houses that had been left out from the permanent wait list of PMAY-G in 16 non-FANI affected districts, to accomplish the objective of ‘safe housing for all’.
