Bhubaneswar: Amidst the ongoing developments with regard to the conduct of Rathya Yatra in Puri, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has asked the Chief Secretary and DGP to go to Puri and take stock of the situation. This comes even as the matter is to be taken up in the Supreme Court of India later today.
As per direction of Hon CM I along with DGP am proceeding to Puri to camp there. I will take stock of the over all situation .

Earlier the Government of Odisha has given an affidavit in the Supreme Court saying if Ratha Yatra is performed in a scaled down manner without the attendance of devotees as proposed by the Gajapati Maharaja, the State Government will endeavour to make all necessary arrangements to conduct the Ratha Yatra.
