Naveen Extends Greetings to Everyone as Odisha Celebrates Christmas With Gaiety and Fervour

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on reeted the people as the State is celebrating Christmas festival midst of carols, greetings.

All churches in the state are illuminated with dazzling lights over the bell towers with red and green streamers along the walls and stars over the main aisle.

Extending greetings to the people Naveen took to his Twitter handle and wished happiness, peace, and prosperity to everyone.

In Capital  people of the Christian community are gathering in large numbers at St Vincent’s Catholic Church in Satya Nagar here.

In Cuttack, people congregated at the Catholic Church near Cantonment Road to witness the birth ceremony of Lord Jesus and joined the midnight mass. At the stroke of midnight, people wished ‘Merry Christmas’ to each other and exchanged gifts.

Christmas fever gripped other parts of the State including Balasore, Kandhamal, Sambalpur as cathedrals, churches, shops, commercial establishments and individual houses belonging to the Christian community were adorned with colourful illuminations, X-mas trees, balloons, and candles.

Tight security has been put in place in Kandhamal.
