Naveen Pays Tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on Birth Anniversary

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik paid his humble tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his 123rd birth anniversary on Thursday.

“Tributes to brave son of Odisha, great freedom fighter Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. He is remembered for his indomitable courage, bravery and patriotism”, the CM tweeted.

Naveen is scheduled to visit the Netaji Birthplace Museum in Odia bazar area of Cuttack city today on the occasion.

According to sources, a special album showcasing the photos of Odia soldiers of Netaji’s Indian National Army (INA) will also be put up at his birthplace this year for visitors.

Two rare pictures of the freedom fighter will be on display.

President Ram Nath Kovind and Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid tributes to Netaji on the occasion.

“Tributes to Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose on his birth anniversary. He remains one of our most beloved national heroes and an icon of India’s freedom struggle. At his word, millions of Indians joined the freedom movement and gave their all. His courage and patriotism inspire us”, the President said in a Twitter message.

Taking to Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “On 23rd January 1897, Janakinath Bose wrote in his diary, “A son was born at midday. This son became a valorous freedom fighter and thinker who devoted his life towards one great cause- India’s freedom.

I refer to Netaji Bose, who we proudly remember on his Jayanti today”.
