Bhubaneswar: Amid the controversy surrounding BJP’s RS candidate Ashwini Vaishnabi who got the support from ruling BJD,Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan today said that there is no secret understanding between BJP and BJD.
“It is an open understanding. There is no secrecy in it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi had requested chief minister Naveen Patnaik to support Aswini in Rajya Sabha by-election in Odisha. Patnaik also openly decalred his party support to Aswini.
Development of State is the sole reason behind such understanding”, Pradhan said while reacting to media.
Meanwhile, Congress heavyweight Narasingh Mishra, on the other hand, came down on both BJD and BJP for unitedly fielding an outsider for Rajya Sabha.
BJD leader and Kendrapara MLA Sashi Bhushan Behera said “being a constitutional expert, Narasingh Mishra is politicising the matter. Politics should not be done a constitutional post”.
