Odisha: Chief Secretary Asit Tripathy To Retire Today

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Secretary Asit Kumar Tripathy is going to retire today.

Apart from taking over as the Chairman of WODC, Tripathy will also have the additional charge of Advisor to Chief Minister on Regional development, Tourism, Agribusiness and Industry.

He was appointed as Chief Secretary of the State on August 19, 2019.

Tripathy’s biggest challenge during his tenure was the management of COVID-19 in the State. However, he successfully handled the situation.

He will take charge as the Chairman of the Western Odisha Development Council (WODC) after his retirement.

1986- batch IAS officer Suresh Chandra Mohapatra will succeed Tripathy as the new Chief Secretary of the State.
