Bhubaneswar: Stating that the world is facing an unprecedented crisis with Covid-19 and the country as a whole is under lockdown, Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik appealed to the house owners not to ask tenants rent for at least three months.
Naveen also said that tenants should not be asked to vacate for non-payment of rents during this crisis period.
“The world is facing an unprecedented crisis with Covid-19. The country as a whole is under lockdown, and we as a state are leaving no stone unturned in fighting this humanitarian challenge”, the CM said.
“Let each one of us rise up and be there for each other during these hard times. Let us do our bit by waiving or at least deferring rent for our tenants for three months. Tenants should not be asked to vacate for non-payment of rents during this crisis period. Let us show the world that Odisha Cares”, Naveen appealed.
The Odisha CM’s appeal came at a time when the economy has come to a standstill following the ongoing lockdown and most of the people in unorganized sector feeling the pinch of lockdown.
