Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today shared images of golden beaches of Puri on social media and reiterated his government’s commitment to transform the beaches to Blue Flag standard with world class environmental friendly tourist amenities.
Sharing the images on his Twitter handle, the CM said that golden beaches of Puri are every traveller’s delight for its idyllic beauty.
He further expressed that his government is committed to leave no stone unturned to transform the Puri beaches to Blue Flag standard with world class environment friendly tourist amenities to further boost tourism potential of the world class heritage city.
Recently, two beaches in Odisha – Puri and Gopalpur have found place among the top five cleanest beaches in India, according to a report released by the National Centre for Coastal Research (NCCR).
The Puri beach has been regarded as the second cleanest beach in the country, while the Gopalpur beach occupies fourth position in the NCCR list of cleanest beaches.
The beach in the Odisha’s pilgrim city got this major national recognition following the successful implementation of ‘Mo Beach’ programme by the Puri administration led by District Collector Balwant Singh.
More than 10,000 people including volunteers, students, NGO members, celebrities and common people actively participated in the ‘Mo Beach’ programme.
